Carrots, wheat, alfalfa, beans, beets and black currants from an organic family farm near Coaldale, Alberta
The Leffers’ Organic Family Farm is located north of Coaldale, Alberta, and it is run by two brothers – Howard and Cornelius. They are dedicated to sustainable farming and protecting soil resources for future generations, all while growing high quality food. In keeping with the diversity required by organic production, the farm produces organic wheat, alfalfa, dry beans, black currants, carrots and red beets.
The Leffers believe in the importance of locally grown food, producing for southern Alberta consumers first. They converted a conventional farm into a certified organic farm in 2002, and have since been producing organic produce.
